Shadowing practice: The Suggs Reunite | June Day One

This clip is a British vlog, not a scripted scene. Zoe Sugg films the Sunday morning her dad and brother arrive for a family day, and the talk has the loose, overlapping shape of a real kitchen conversation rather than a rehearsed dialogue. It is rated B1, and at 240 words per minute it moves faster than most of the catalogue, so this is a clip for keeping up with natural pace, not a slow starter.

What happens on screen is small and domestic: breakfast, bagels going in and out of a toaster, a jar of Nutella, then her dad and brother turning up to make cheese toasties. That everyday setting is exactly where speaking practice pays off, because the vocabulary is the vocabulary you reach for at your own breakfast table, not the vocabulary of a lecture. If you want daily English conversation practice with people who actually know each other, this is closer to how English sounds off script.

• "we're gonna make this like hopefully a fun day and": the one reduced form measured in this clip. Say it as gonna, not going to, and notice the sentence keeps running past where a written sentence would stop, which is how spoken English actually strings clauses together.
• "Are you vlogging?": a short question with the pitch rising on vlogging. Copy that rise rather than reading it flat.
