• "I've told you a hundred times, Matt." The stress falls hard on "hundred" and "Matt", and the line has to sound worn out, not angry. Match the flatness, not just the words.
• "By the time all your stuff's in, it's going to feel really cramped." Two clauses run together with no pause at the comma. Say it as one breath and you will hear how a native speaker links "stuff's in" into a single beat.
• "And that's not really the basis for a relationship, is it?" The tag question at the end drops in pitch instead of rising, which is what makes it sound resigned rather than curious. Copy that fall, not a textbook question intonation.
• "You can't judge a book by its cover." A fixed idiom said flat and fast, no dramatic pause before "cover". Practising it here is closer to how it actually gets used than reading it off a list.

Treat the scene as a handful of short blocks rather than one long take. Each block below has its own tone, so shadow it on its own before moving to the next.

• Start with the introductions: "I'm Helen", "I'm Simon", "And I'm Jane". These are short and give you the accent's basic vowel shapes with almost no risk of losing the rhythm.
